chicago, old and new
During the summer of 2021, I had the opportunity to explore my artistic passions through the New York Times Summer Academy's virtual photojournalism course. Choosing to document the interplay of old and new in the historic city of Chicago, I immersed myself in the city's nooks and crannies, capturing its architectural marvels and engaging with its diverse inhabitants. This experience allowed me to step into the shoes of a true photographer, navigating the challenges of storytelling through a lens. From communicating with strangers to seeking out unique perspectives, I gained invaluable insights into the life of a photojournalist, honing my skills in visual storytelling and developing a deeper appreciation for the art of capturing the essence of a place and its people. Since then I have found myself observing and capturing moments on my iPhone frequently, which are stored in my “Looks Good in My Mind” album. Enjoy.
